It's Sunday?

Casting on...

I still can't believe it's Sunday. I'd better believe it soon or I'll have to start struggling with Monday!

This week seems to have zoomed past! I've finished a knitting project that I can't show to you or even tell you about... Top secret Mothers day businesses... I also finished sock one!! I really want to get sock two finished by this time next weekend... Might not happen though. I have planned out what I'm going to do next and it's killing me that I can't start yet. I'm making myself finish the sock! Which is being a little counter productive sadly...

I've been enjoying watching the Winter Olympics wish we had more medals to be proud of but as A keeps telling me "It's the taking part that counts". It makes me feel no better that I wont getting the Kitting gold *sniff*, Oh well 4 years to train for the next one.

Olympics

Casting On...

I've been talking part in the Olympics! The Knitting Olympics that is..."2010 Knitting Olympics" I've used the time to finish some projects. Here they are!...

This is my Poncho in semi complete form,
I have finished it!

Here is one of my mittens (Done without a pattern) I have finished the pair.

Here is a picture of me in Edinburgh, I was sympathising with the guys and gals over in Canada in the cold!

So My socks are the current project I'm on. Though I don't think I'll be winning the gold for these it's taking me a while to do them. I also need to get some presents made! But I can't start them until after the Olympics so I need to get on!!

Newcastle

Casting on...

I'm in Newcastle at the moment I've been here for a week now and I'll be heading home on monday. Me and A are going to Edinburgh today! I've never been beofre, I'm hoping for some real wool shops so I can get some nice wool.

It's been a fairly exciting week, a friend of mine had a little girl! I've not seen her yet but I'm sure she's beautiful!
I got engaged! We went for a lovley little walk and while i was taking photos A preped himself and when I turned round he was on one knee! so I said yes, or at least made a pathetic sound and nodded!

I haven't really done any knitting so I must get some done while I'm away!

I'll try and get some pictures up soon, I understand lots of words can be hard going....

To many projects...

Casting on...

I realised this morning that I like starting new things, when I went to my knitting basket I found 8 unfinished projects none of which I really wanted to pick up and knit at that point in time. So I said to myself "No more projects, finish two before you start any more!"
So I sorted them all out so I knew what I had, (Two socks - from different pairs, One mitten, A baby blanket, a cardigan, a mug hug, a baby boottie and a crochet blanket) I could easily finish two of those before embarking on another project doomed to be tossed to the bottom for my basket!

This afternoon I made it 9 unfinished projects when I cast on this: Shawl
I'm having lots of fun making it!

I also realised today I lack perseverance...

Confession

Casting on...

Ok so I've been knitting a sock (the first sock in the pair) for a while now. I really mean it when I say a while, like months... It was meant to be a Christmas present.
So between Christmas and now I've done lots of knitting, I've been knitting like crazy! I wondered why my sock wasn't getting any bigger.
I thought "You've been working on this sock for a long time and it's not growing".
Today I found out why! I have been doing lots of knitting... but not on my sock... I've made 2 Mug Huggs, A hot water bottle cover, started a baby blanket, I've learnt to Crochet and have made squares for a different blanket, even a little Duck! But my sock hasn't had much attention. So a few days ago I though "I'll do it! I'll finish the sock for Valentines day!" So I did some work and again I've been knitting and I thought I'd done really well, I thought I'd would have at least finished the first one by now but alas it was not so...

...I did start and finish a cowl though...

Hottie Cover

Casting on...

Yesterdays project was a hot water bottle cover.
Big Softie wool and 6.5mm circulars made for a very snug cover. I woke up and it was still warm!!

I left the neck short so the filling bit was sticking out and attempted to neatly sew the bottom up to hold the HWB in but... Well it stays in... The neatness leaves a lot to be desired.

I'll get some pictures up one day...
